This is req "1.2a", an extension of Remy Evard's req 1.2.7 to handle
"areas", by John Sellens, at the University of Waterloo, and
subsequently elsewhere. This version was described in an article
in ";login:", the USENIX Association newsletter, vol 22 no 1,
Febraury, 1997.

The original req-1.2.7 and tkreq-1.10.1 are available from
ftp://ftp.ccs.neu.edu/pub/sysadmin

If you're not already using req, you should check out the
alternatives, such as Jesse Vincent's fine RT Request Tracking
software, from
  http://www.fsck.com/projects/rt/
Or check out my Problem Tracking Page at
  http://www.generalconcepts.com/resources/tracking/
for references elsewhere.

Available here are

    req-1.2apl3.tar.gz
This is req-1.2a patchlevel 3 -- current as of December 8/1999.
Fixed an ugly bug I sloppily introduced in 1.2apl2, and adds
REQDEFOWNER and REQDEFAREA environment variables which should
be convenient for automatically piping multiple mail aliases
into separate areas in the same req system.

    req-1.2apl2.tar.gz - obsolete - bugs
This is req-1.2a patchlevel 2 -- current as of November 15/1999.
This works with Perl version 5 (previous versions of req required
Perl version 4), and has a getdate command fixed for Y2000.

    req-1.2apl1.tar.gz - obsolete
This is req-1.2a patchlevel 1 -- current as of Sept 4/1997
This contains a few configuration and build improvements to
correct a mistake or two, and (hopefully) make it easier to
	deal with.

    req-1.2a.tar.gz - obsolete
	This is req-1.2a patchlevel 0

    req-1.2.7--1.2a.patch.gz - obsolete
This will patch req-1.2.7 into req-1.2a (I hope), which might
be useful (or might not) if you have made local changes to
req-1.2.7. Make sure you make a backup copy before trying to
	apply this with "patch -p < req-1.2.7--1.2a.patch.gz"

    reqAreas.txt.gz
The text submitted for the ;login; article.
    tkreq-epsf
Encapsulated postscript for the tkreq screenshot included as
	an illustration in the article

    req.ps.gz
    req.slides.ps.gz
Copies of Remy's original LISA 1994 paper and presentation
