Power Plays Starts Thursday!

After months of planning, Power Plays, KWLT's Adjudicated Short Play Contest, is about to begin. It runs Thursday through Saturday, March 23, 24 and 25 at 7pm, and Saturday afternoon at 2pm, featuring a total of 11 different one act plays presented by different area theatre groups.

We were fortunate to receive a grant from Theatre Ontario for an adjudicator, and we were even more fortunate to be able to get Rod Carley as our adjudicator. Rod is currently the artistic director of the Walking Shadow Theatre Company, and has many years of directing and instructing experience. He was nominated for the first John Hirsch Director's award, directed the DORA-nominated King Lear at the Annex Theatre and Edifice and Macbeth for the Black Horse Village Players. Rod spent 2 seasons in the position of Assistant Director at the Stratford Festival and taught the Shakespeare acting program for George Brown College.

This should be a very interesting and entertaining weekend, so get your tickets early! Tickets are $8per session ($6KWLT members), or $25for the entire weekend ($18members).
